Hi! I’m Sarah

My path into herbalism began in 2019, rooted in a deep curiosity about the body and a desire to understand healing in a more holistic and natural way. Since then, I have completed over 1,300 hours of formal training in herbalism through the California School of Herbal Studies, Acorn Herb School, and the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. Each of these experiences combined with my own healing journey has shaped the way I approach my work.

At the core, I view healing through a vitalist lens, which means I view the body as inherently intelligent and always attempting to move toward balance. Rather than seeing symptoms as problems to suppress, I understand them as meaningful expressions of the body’s attempt to communicate and restore harmony. My role is to help interpret that language and offer support that works with the body, not against it. Healing, in this way, is not something imposed from the outside, but something that unfolds when the right conditions are created.

In my practice, I place a strong emphasis on gut health as a foundation for overall wellbeing. I work with clients one-on-one to explore the connections between diet, lifestyle, and gut health, offering guidance that includes dietary shifts, lifestyle practices, and custom herbal formulations tailored to each individual.

Outside of my practice, I feel most at home in the natural world. I spend my time swimming in the Yuba River, wildcrafting plants, weaving pine needle baskets, and getting creative in the kitchen. These practices are not separate from my work, they are an extension of the same relationship with the land and the plants that informs everything I offer.

I am a California native currently living in Nevada City, where I continue to deepen my connection to place, plants, and the people I serve.

What to expect in an herbal consultation

Consultations are held over Zoom, creating a comfortable and accessible space to connect wherever you are. Your initial session is a two-hour, in-depth consultation where we will explore your health history, review your intake form, and take time to understand your current concerns and goals. This is a collaborative and conversational process, allowing us to listen closely to your body’s patterns and needs. Following our session, I thoughtfully develop a personalized protocol that may include herbal, dietary, and lifestyle recommendations. Your protocol will be shared with you within a few days of your consultation, allowing time for careful consideration and formulation. Please note that the cost of the session does not include any custom herbal formulations or products that may be recommended.

It is highly recommended to have at least 2 follow up appointments, if not more, depending on circumstance. Healing takes time and protocols may need to be adjusted. Follow up appointments can be scheduled as 1 hour or 30 minute appointments depending on need.
